The Sniper Story: Players Resist Change
Up until 2014 I taught shooting like everyone else.
What I thought was "the right way" - forcing players to change their shot to match my ideal....
And guess what? Players always resisted change at that level - starting with the "Demolition" of their current shot (the only way they have ever had success so far!).
I’m sure you've never had any resistance from your player accepting your advice, right?
Over the next 8 years I had 5 different epiphanies that contributed to what I call the "Remodeling" approach to improving your player's shot.
Combined, these 5 realizations form a system that is more effective in 4 important ways:
1) Increasing a players commitment TO change,
2) Changing how they think about shooting
3) Changing their physical shooting technique in a way that feels natural
4) and - most importantly - improving their shooting percentage in games
Tomorrow I will explain how Epiphany #1 helped a college player achieve a 57% career shooting percentage without his coach correcting any technique... Stay tuned!
See you on the court,
Coach BJ
